Orthodontics Park City

Dr. Spencer S. Blackham has always enjoyed tinkering. As a kid he enjoyed riding and fixing bikes which eventually led to working at the local bike shop. During dental and orthodontic school he performed the repairs on his vehicles. Now he tinkers on teeth more than anything else!

Dr. Blackham is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a society that prides itself on the highest quality outcomes, and a deep knowledge of the workings of orthodontics - both scientifically and clinically. Family and incredible opportunities then brought him back to Utah where he has worked since residency.

He looks forward to interacting with each of the unique and wonderful people who enter into the office of Park City Orthodontics.

Orthodontics Park City

I love being an orthodontist. Like winning the Lottery, orthodontics has opened the world to me and my family. There is extreme satisfaction in seeing new smiles, better self confidence and lives change.

I often get asked: “What would I do if this was my child or my mouth?” With this in mind, I treat each individual case as if I were treating my own son, daughter, or wife.

Here at Park City Orthodontics, my team and I have the same goal in mind: to provide excellent care to each and every one of our patients and make them feel like family. I have been part of the Park City and surrounding communities practicing orthodontics since 1993.

Park City Braces

Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They're made out of metal or ceramic brackets that are attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. These brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the positions we want them to be in if you have regular adjustments with our doctors.

Park City braces are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Because they can sometimes work faster at aligning teeth and closing gaps than other treatments might, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Braces don't need some of the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can, making Park City braces a cost-effective orthodontic option.

Park City Invisalign

Invisalign is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists and is the top alternative to traditional braces. Instead of brackets and bands, Park City Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth.

Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. In order to keep your teeth moving in the direction you want them to, you'll generally need to switch your invisible trays out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. The Invisalign system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed exactly! Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.

Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option. A free consultation with Park City Orthodontics will allow us to determine your Invisalign eligibility.
