Dr. Blackham
Dr. Blackham is a board-certified orthodontic specialist with years of experience transforming smiles.
As a member of multiple orthodontic memberships, his collaborative approach to treatment means you get the latest in orthodontic technology and treatment plans.
Education & Experience
Dr. Blackham attended Brigham Young University for one year before traveling to Mexico for a mission trip with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (y sí, todavía puede platicar en Español).
After returning and finishing his degree at BYU, Dr. Blackham moved to Illinois to attend dental school at Southern Illinois University. He participated in the American Student Dental Association. He conducted extensive research while there, even earning the opportunity to present at the International Association of Dental Research conference in Seoul, South Korea.
Immediately following dental school, he and his wife Angie relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia, to allow him to complete his orthodontic residency at the University of British Columbia for his Orthodontic Certificate Training and Masters Degree in Craniofacial Science. While in residency, he was again involved in organized dentistry (American Association of Orthodontics and Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics) and research.
He chose to investigate the effects of a novel Invisalign feature compared to another treatment alternative for growing children. This led to his deep interest and love for all things related to Invisalign and clear aligner therapy.
Philosophy
His understanding that collaboration leads to improved outcomes has led him to maintain membership with:

- Utah Association of Orthodontists
- Utah Dental Association
Board-Certified Expert
Upon completion of residency, Dr. Blackham passed the American Board of Orthodontics, a society that prides itself on the highest quality outcomes and deep knowledge of the workings of orthodontics—both scientifically and clinically.
To pass the rigorous written and clinical exams, Dr. Blackham had to spend hours studying outside of work. Now that he’s officially board-certified, that hard work has paid off!
In His Free Time
Dr. Blackham is most assuredly looking at cars when he isn’t looking at teeth.
His passion was ignited as a kid playing with Hot Wheels, fueled as a teen valet parking cars, and stoked when his darling wife, parents, and in-laws set him up to drive an exotic car on a race track.
